Step: 1 Draw a flat trapezoid
The key to drawing a realistic diamond is making it look reflective and three-dimensional. Fortunately, that’s easy to do once you know what kind of shapes and shading to use.
All you need to draw a beautiful sparkling diamond is a ruler, a piece of paper, and something to draw with!
Draw a flat trapezoid. Make the top of the trapezoid shorter than the bottom. This will be the crown, or top, of your diamond.
Use a ruler to draw the flat trapezoid so the lines are all straight.
Step: 2 Draw the inverted triangle
Make an inverted triangle under the trapezoid. The bottom of the trapezoid should make up the base of the triangle.
Try to make the angle at the bottom tip of the triangle 90 degrees.
Step: 3 Draw the small triangles
Draw small and large triangles inside the trapezoid and inverted triangle. These triangles will be the different sides of your diamond.
Try to make the triangles as symmetrical as possible so your diamond looks more realistic. You want these lines to be straight, so you may want to use a ruler when you’re drawing them.
Add shadows and highlights to your diamond. Shadows and highlights will make it look like light is reflecting off of your diamond.
Leave the corners of your diamond white and shade in the rest with darker colors like blue and purple.
